We've designed our Contingent to give you plenty of choice, with different ways to experience the Jamboree. Whether you're looking for an action-packed adventure, cultural exploration, or the full Poland 2027 experience, there’s an option for you!

  • Who can attend the World Scout Jamboree?
    The Australian Contingent is open to: ✅ Youth Participants (Scouts & Venturers aged 14-17 at the time of the event) ✅ Unit Leaders (Adult Leaders supporting the Youth Participants) ✅ International Service Team (IST) (Adult volunteers helping deliver the Jamboree) For full eligibility details, click here.
  • What is a World Scout Jamboree?
    A World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is the largest international Scouting event, held every four years in a different country. It brings together 40,000 Scouts from all over the world for a life-changing experience filled with adventure, cultural exchange, and global friendships.
  • When and where is the next World Scout Jamboree?
    The 26th World Scout Jamboree will be held in Gdańsk, Poland, during July - August 2027.
  • What is the theme of Poland 2027?
    The theme of Poland 2027 is “Bravely”. This theme challenges Scouts to reflect on their relationships, with themselves, each other, and the planet, through an exciting mix of outdoor adventures, educational experiences, and international friendship.
  • How large will the Australian Contingent be?
    We are still confirming the number of available spots with the Jamboree Organising Team. Given the excitement around Poland 2027, it’s likely demand will be high.
  • What is the selection process?
    We expect more interest than available places, so there may be a selection process. More information will be released as we get closer to applications opening. No spot is guaranteed until final selections are made.
  • When will applications open?
    Applications are expected to open around September 2025. Register your interest now to be the first to receive updates on applications, key dates, and important information.
  • When will applications close?
    We will confirm the closing date closer to the time, but apply early as demand is expected to exceed available spots!
  • What are the different attendance options?
    Our Contingent offers multiple ways to experience the Jamboree, including pre- and post-tours. Click into the options below to learn more and check eligibility (including age requirements): 👉 Explore Attendance Options
  • Can I organise my own travel?
    For Youth Participants and Unit Leaders, all travel is organised by the Contingent and included in the Jamboree fee. Limited self-organised travel exceptions may be granted at the discretion of the Contingent Leader, but only for both departure and return (one-way self-organised travel is not permitted). If a Youth Participant is granted self-organised travel, they must be handed over in person at a designated drop-off and pick-up point at non-negotiable times. No youth members can travel independently without an adult handover. For IST members, you can choose between Contingent-organised travel or self-organised travel, but must meet at a designated location in Poland at a non-negotiable time.
  • Can IST members join the Explore or Adventure pre/post tours?
    No, the Explore (pre-tour) and Adventure (post-tour) options are for Youth Participants and Line Leaders only. However, IST members can join the IST-exclusive Escape post-tour - a 7-day Contiki-style adventure through Europe designed just for adults! Learn more on our Attendance Options page.
  • Is funding available?
    Yes! Depending on your State Branch, various grants may be available, including: NSW – John and Marie Hill Fund Victoria – EML Fund National – Limited funding available We will share a full list of grants and application details closer to the application period.
  • How much will the Jamboree cost?
    The Jamboree will be a significant investment, but our team is working hard to keep costs as low as possible while delivering an incredible experience. We are currently finalising price guidance for each attendance option - more details will be available soon. 💡 Start fundraising early! Even small, consistent savings (e.g., $50 a week) will add up quickly.
  • How do I join the Contingent Management Team (CMT)?
    We’re looking for passionate, skilled individuals to help lead Australia’s journey to Poland 2027! The Contingent Management Team (CMT) oversees all logistics, program planning, finance, health & wellbeing, and communications.   • What jobs are available for the IST?
    IST members will be assigned roles by the Jamboree Organising Team, covering a wide range of areas, including: Program activities (adventure, cultural, leadership) Operations & logistics Catering & site services Health & wellbeing support Your IST role will be confirmed closer to the event, but IST members can express preferences during the application process.
  • What will I get out of the Jamboree?
    Everyone who has attended a World Scout Jamboree agrees—it’s life-changing. ✅ New friendships with Scouts from across the world ✅ Unforgettable adventures you won’t find anywhere else ✅ Personal growth and leadership skills ✅ A once-in-a-lifetime experience that will stay with you forever
  • I don’t have any friends interested, can I still attend?
    Absolutely! Many Scouts attend without knowing anyone beforehand, but that changes quickly! You’ll be part of a Unit, travel together, and meet Scouts from all over Australia and the world. By the end of the Jamboree, you’ll have made friends for life!
  • What kind of weather can I expect?
    Poland in July-August is summer ☀️, with warm days (25-30°C) and cooler nights (15-20°C). Be prepared for a mix of sun, occasional rain, and plenty of outdoor fun!
